Help + Hope for the Homeless in our Community

Our Mission

City Mission-Living Stones, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has provided for the needs of Fayette County’s homeless people for over 30 years.  At City Mission we believe that every single person is made in the image of God, and is a person of value, full of purpose and possibility. We have the privilege of working with our clients, offering hope in Jesus and hope in life. City Mission offers multiple housing and service options including emergency shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing. In 2024 our services expanded to include Promise Place, an independent living program that serves youth ages 16-22.  At City Mission you will find a kind, welcoming, and supportive environment where all who pass through our doors are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect.

“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house...”
1 Peter 2:5

Testimonials

"One wrong move and I fell short to the point that I was sleeping in my car. I didn’t know where I was going to use the bathroom or get a drink of water. I heard about the shelter, so I called. I was very overwhelmed, in tears, and embarrassed. They told me to be here in 30 minutes. I was so comfortable from day one. I can see the flicker of light at the end of the tunnel now."
- Michelle (Client)
"In 2020, one illness put me in a homeless situation. I was accepted into the transitional housing program at City Mission. I am now a resident of permanent supportive housing and a proud board member of City Mission. I have so much gratitude for what they do. If it wasn’t for City Mission, I don’t know where I would be."
- Marcella (Client)
"I ran into some housing difficulties and came to the shelter. City Mission assists you in so many ways. In three weeks, I went from being denied housing to moving into an apartment"
- Chris (Client)
